Objectives

The main objective of this project is to immerse the students in a full software development cycle for real applications, ranging from user interviews, requirements specification, functional analysis and coding to testing, version control, documentation and release.

A secondary goal is to create reusable frameworks that may later be used in other projects, thus acting like a "Software factory". The frameworks that are being currently developed are:

  1. Persistence API for J2ME/MIDP 1.0 Recordset, supporting transactions and caches.
  2. Abstract Window Toolkit (AWT) API: J2SE port to MIDP 1.0
